According to comprehensive foreign media reports, according to the latest data released by the European Tire and Rubber Manufacturers Association (ETRMA), although sales fell in the fourth quarter from the previous quarter, the sales of tires in Europe still showed a growth trend throughout 2014.

On January 14, the association stated that in the fourth quarter of last year, in addition to motorcycle tires, European tire sales declined, but because of the good sales in the first half of the year, the annual sales volume was still increasing.

Data show that in the fourth quarter of 2014, European passenger car tire shipments fell 9% year-on-year to 40 million. ETRMA said that the decline in tire sales in the fourth quarter was due to the warm winter in Europe, and winter tire sales were lower than before. For the entire year of 2014, European passenger car tire shipments increased by 2% year-on-year to 197 million.

In the fourth quarter of 2014, European truck and bus tire shipments fell 2% year-on-year to 2.31 million units, but annual shipments increased 4% year-on-year to 9.2 million units.

European agricultural tire shipments in the fourth quarter of 2014 fell 11% year-on-year to 290,000 units, and annual shipments fell 2% year-on-year to 1.64 million units.

European motorcycle tire shipments in the fourth quarter of 2014 increased by 2% year-on-year to 1.004 million units, and annual shipments increased by 6% year-on-year to 8.4 million units.
